Biography
Dr. Seokcheon Lee received his B.S. and M.S. degrees in Industrial Engineering from Seoul National University, South Korea, in 1991 and 1993, respectively, and his Ph.D. degree in Industrial and Manufacturing Engineering from The Pennsylvania State University, University Park, in 2005. He is currently a Professor in the Edwardson School of Industrial Engineering at Purdue University.
His research interests include scheduling and logistics, with a focus on real-time decision-making and coordination techniques for orchestrating diverse physical and cyber resources in production and logistics systems.
Outside of his professional work, Professor Lee enjoys reading and planning while walking, as he finds that physical activity enhances clarity of thought. He also enjoys spending time with his new female puppy, Cream. Cream is especially meaningful to him, as he has only had male children in the past.

Peter Nielsen graduated from Aalborg University in 2005 with a master’s degree in engineering with a specialization in Industrial IT systems and a PhD in the same topic in 2008. Since then, he has had various academic and managerial positions at Aalborg University, where he is now Professor in the field of AI and head of the research group AI4OR. In this role his primary research focus is AI for autonomous cyber-physical systems used in the Defence and Security industry. Besides these roles he is program committee member for Denmark for EU’s civilian security program: Civile Security for Society, works as an independent expert for EU on AI for defence applications and is a member of numerous advisory boards related to research within the fields of AI and Security.
